NEWSFLASH: BEING HOT ISN’TJUST HOW YOU LOOK

Hi, it’s Maria!
Last week I said there’s nothing wrong with wanting to be hot. Wanting to look
your best, feel your best, and actually like how you show up in your body.
I meant that.
But I also think “hot” gets misunderstood.
It’s not just how you look. It’s how you carry yourself. It’s how you move, how
you show up, how you take care of yourself. It’s the way you follow through on
things you say matter to you. It’s the energy of someone who feels good in their
body and acts like it.
And that doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens when you actually do something about it. Not just physically, but
mentally. When you stop constantly negotiating with yourself. When you decide
something matters and start showing up like it does. When you build habits that
support how you want to feel, instead of just thinking about it.
And once you start doing that, things around you start to shift, whether people
are ready for it or not.
You’re not as available. You’re not as flexible. You’re not as quick to say yes to
everything or drop what you’ve already committed to. You protect your time
differently. You move differently in conversations. You stop adjusting yourself to
make everything easier for everyone else.
And that changes the dynamic.
People like the idea of you doing well. They like the idea of you feeling good.
They’ll support it in theory. But when it starts to show up in your actions, it
doesn’t always land the same way.
Because now you’re operating differently.
And not everyone is going to meet you there.
But that’s the point.
Because prioritizing yourself isn’t just about feeling better in your body. It’s
about setting a standard for your life. It’s deciding that your time matters, your
energy matters, and how you show up for yourself is something you don’t
compromise on.
And from there, things open up.
You think more clearly. You trust yourself more. You stop second guessing every
decision because you’ve already decided what matters. You start saying yes to
things that actually feel good, and no to things that don’t, without needing to
over-explain it.
You become more open to new experiences, not because you’re forcing it, but
because you’re in a better place to step into them.
And that starts to shape everything else.
At BARE, we see this all the time. People come in thinking they’re just trying a
workout, and over time it becomes something they don’t move. Something that
has a place in their life, not something that gets fit in when there’s time.
And from there, everything else starts to shift.
So if you’re leaning into your version of a Hot BARE Summer, understand this.
Looking the part is one thing.
Living like it is another.
That’s what it actually means to be hot.
