PRIORITIZING YOURSELF ISN’T SELFISH—IT’S SANITY

Hi, it’s Maria 👋—and can we be honest for a second? Finding time for yourself these days feels like trying to find your phone while you’re on a call with it. Between work, errands, family, and the “I’ll just check one email real quick” spiral, your own name barely makes

the calendar.

But here’s t

he thing—you don’t need a full day off or a perfectly color-coded morning routine to feel grounded. You just need 45 minutes.

Forty-five minutes to unplug. To breathe. To sweat a little, maybe shake a lot, and remember what it feels like to do something for you. Because here’s the truth: everyone’s busy. Everyone’s tired. And if you wait until life slows down to make space for yourself, you’ll be

waiting forever.

We’ve all been there—running from one thing to the next, convincing ourselves we’ll start prioritizing “me time” once things calm down. But newsflash: life doesn’t calm down. The emails, the texts, the errands—they’ll always be there. What won’t always be there is your

energy, your patience, and that quiet inner voice that reminds you who you are when you’re not on autopilot.

That’s where those 45 minutes come in. It’s not about cramming another task into your schedule—it’s about claiming a moment that belongs entirely to you. For some people, that means a walk outside with a podcast. For others, it’s a slow sweat session that makes you

feel strong again. Whatever it looks like, those 45 minutes are your reset button.

And let’s be clear—self-care isn’t selfish. It’s not indulgent. It’s necessary. It’s the difference between running on fumes and actually feeling like you’re steering your own ship. When you give yourself that time, everything else benefits: your mood, your relationships, your focus. You show up better because you took time to show up for you.

The best part? Those 45 minutes don’t need to be perfect. Some days they’ll feel calm and centered, other days they’ll feel chaotic and clumsy—but they’ll always count. You’ll walk away a little lighter, a little stronger, and maybe even a little prouder that you didn’t put

yourself last again.

So consider this your reminder (or your not-so gentle nudge): carve out 45 minutes this week that belong to you. Not “if you find time.” Not “if everything else is done.” Just you, choosing yourself, because you deserve it.

At BARE, we believe those 45 minutes aren’t a break from your life—they’re what help you live it better.
