THERE’S NOTHING WRONG WITH WANTING TO BE HOT

Hi, it’s Maria!
“Hot Girl Summer” gets talked about a lot this time of year.
Usually it swings one of two ways. It’s either all about how you look, or it flips completely and turns into“it shouldn’t matter at all.” And honestly, I don’t think it has to be either. Wanting to look your best and feel your best at the same time is not a bad thing. It’s actually pretty normal. You can want to feel strong in your body and like how you look in a swimsuit. You can want more energy, more confidence, and also care about the way your clothes fit. Those things don’t cancel each other out.
If anything, they tend to go together.
And I think we’ve gotten to a point where people almost feel like they have to downplay that. Like wanting to be “hot” is shallow. Like calling yourself a hot girl is too much. Like confidence has to be toned down so it doesn’t come across the wrong way. But there’s nothing wrong with wanting to feel good in your body. There’s nothing wrong with liking how you look. And there’s definitely nothing wrong with owning that.
Confidence isn’t the same thing as cockiness. Being a “hot girl” isn’t a personality type or a stereotype you have to fit into. It’s not reserved for a certain look, a certain body, or a certain type of person.
It’s a feeling.
And it’s something you can decide for yourself.
Where it usually starts to fall apart is when everything becomes about getting there as fast as possible. When it turns into doing more, adding more, trying everything at once just to see something change.
That’s when it stops working.
Because feeling your best isn’t built in a rush. It’s built in what you do consistently, even when it’s not exciting. It’s built in routines that actually fit into your life. It’s built in showing up for yourself in a way that you can repeat, not just for a few weeks, but beyond that. And looking your best usually comes from that, not the other way around.
At BARE, we see this all the time. People come in wanting one thing, and end up getting more than they expected. They feel stronger, more in control, more confident in how they move. And over time, that shows physically too.
Not because they were chasing it constantly, but because they stayed consistent
long enough for it to actually happen.
That’s what works.
Not doing the most. Not jumping from one thing to the next. Not trying to
overhaul everything overnight. Just building something you can come back to.
So if you’re heading into this summer wanting to feel better in your body and
like how you look, that’s completely valid.
There’s nothing wrong with that.
In fact, we’re leaning into it.
Hot Girl Summer is great.
But around here, it’s Hot BARE Summer.
